WILLIAM PERLON "BILL" MOORE FLORENCE, SC William Perlon "Bill" Moore, affectionately known as "Papa", 64, of Florence, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, September 7, 2012 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Moore was born in Lake City, SC a son of Mrs. Cora Lynn Baker Moore and the late Ernest Guy Moore, Jr.He was a 50+ member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church.He was owner and operator of Moore's Grocery and Sporting Goods since 1968.He was a member of the SC Wildlife Forestry Commission from 1969 – 1979 and a charter member of the High Bank Hunt Club.Mr. Moore was a loving family man, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother that would take any child that did not have a father figure under his wing and take them hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Carl Moore and Charles Moore. Surviving are his devoted wife of 45 years, Paula Gibbons Moore of Florence; mother of Florence; daughters, Buffy (John) Cariati, Dana (Joey) Perry, Wendy (Chad) Williamson and Patti (Ryan) Garris, all of Florence; granddaughters, Raven Powers, Caitlin Powers, Logan Williamson, Presley Turner and Baylie Garris; grandsons, Chandler Garris, Deuce Perry, Brody Cariati; step-grandson, Nick Cariati; sister, Carolyn (Keith) Ard of Florence; brothers, Guy (Carol) Moore, Larry (Stephanie) Moore, Don (Phyllis) Moore and Stoney (Maggie) Moore and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Lisa Moore Scholarship Fund, Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, 7432 E. National Cemetery Rd, Florence, SC 29506. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2012 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel.Burial will follow in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
