Doris Weaver DeWitt Ohl Florence, SC Doris Weaver DeWitt Ohl, 87, passed away Friday evening, December 28, 2012 in the McLeod Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church.Burial will be held at 1:00 Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Florence National Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home and other times at 2510 Kingston Drive. Mrs. Ohl was born in Norfolk, Va., a daughter of the late George C. and Alma Cross Weaver. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3181. She was a Registered Nurse at McLeod Infirmary and Honorage Nursing Center. She was well known for her kind, loving nature and beautiful smile. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Aubrey LaRue DeWitt, who passed away July 18, 1974; son, Bruce LaRue DeWitt, who passed away July 9, 2010; grandson, Gary Lowder, Jr., who passed away June 6, 2002; siblings, Virginia Weaver Sawyer, Louise Weaver Rawlinson, Margaret Weaver Saleeby, George C. Weaver, Jr. and Frank “F.A.” Weaver. Surviving are her devoted husband of 37 years, Lt. Col. Adam Phillip Ohl, Jr. (U.S. Air Force Retired); daughters, Kathy DeWitt (Jack) Belew, Debbie DeWitt Lowder, Sonya DeWitt Smith and Teresa DeWitt (Bill) Dullaghan; grandsons, Mark DeWitt of Florence, Chad (Lisa) DeWitt of Park City,Kansas; Dr. E. Scott Smith of New Orleans, LA, Dr. Jason (Katie) Smith of Dublin, CA, Lance Dullaghan and Tim (Janet) Belew, all of Florence; sister, Pauline Weaver Warr of Florence; great-grandchildren, AubreyDeWitt of Lexington, SC, LindsayDeWitt, Cheyenne Weatherington and Trenton Weatherington, all of Park City, Kansas and Tyler Belew of Florence; special sisters-in-law, Geneva Weaver Reaves of Florence and Barbara Weaver of Cartersville, GA; her best friend of 75 years, Dorothy Haynes Schlesinger of Omaha, Texas.
