Clinton Snipes Florence, SC Clinton Snipes, 80, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Snipes was born in Darlington County, a son of the late James Pressley and Lillie Burton Walters Snipes.He was the co-owner of Snipes Used Cars until his retirement in 2000.Mr. Snipes was a longtime and active member of First Free Will Baptist Church which he loved dearly.He served his church as a Trustee, a member of the Board of Directors, a former Deacon, and a Sunday school teacher. He was a kind and loving man who never met a stranger.Mr. Snipes will be remembered for his understanding and patient nature.He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by his five siblings, Everette Snipes, Vincent Snipes, Allen Snipes, Margie Ariail, and Margaret Towe. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Sarah Audrey Lee Snipes; two children, Diane (Jimmy) Bass and Mitchell (Maryann) Snipes both of Florence; three grandchildren, Mitch (Stephanie) Snipes, Kaylee Bass, and Kensley Bass; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Carson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 9, 2012 in the First Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502 or First Free Will Baptist Church, 2624 W. Palmetto St., Florence, SC 29501. The family wishes to thank Michael Thomas, Hillary Dolford, and Ronnie Ashley for all their special care given to Mr. Snipes during his illness.
