CARLOS MOBLEY HANNA FLORENCE, SC CARLOS MOBLEY HANNA, 72, of Florence, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in a Florence hospital. Mr. Hanna was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late James Carlisle Hanna and Eschol Marie Moore Hanna.He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class, served on the Board for the Building Committee, served on the Board for the Finance Committee and served the church in many other capacities.He was involved in many civic community clubs, was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce for 2 years, a past officer of the Boys and Girls Club, past president of the YMCA Board, a member of the SC State American Cancer Society Board and a member of the United Way.He was a Past master of the Hanna Masonic Lodge #298 where he received his 50 year pin, was a member of the Omar Shrine and a member of the SC Army Reserve.Mr. Hanna was a "self-made man" who started Coastal Sanitary Supply in 1969 and remained its Owner, Operator and President.He enjoyed boating and skiing the water of Santee, led a very active life and was a huge Carolina Gamecock Fan. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren as "Papa". He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Julie Marie Hanna; brothers, Rupert B. Hanna and James Larry Hanna; sister, Annie Marie Hanna. Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years, Jo Johnson Hanna of Florence; sons, Craig Hanna and Brad (Cassie) Hanna, both of Florence; Craig's children, Chandler Hanna, Chapman Hanna and their mother, Shelley Hanna, of Conway and Brad's children, Simmons Hanna and James Hanna, both of Florence; sister, Judy Hanna of Florence; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Gary Hanna. Memorials may be made to Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1300 Second Loop Road, Florence, SC29501 or to a charity of one's choice. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Highland Park United Methodist Church.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
