Mrs. Winnie Lee Turbeville, age 82, died peacefully Monday, April 3, 2017 after an extended illness.Mrs. Turbeville is the widow of Marion T. (Teddy) Turbeville, Sr.Winnie was born February 26, 1935 in Manning, SC to Eugene Lamar Floyd and Mamie Latrell Brannon Floyd.She is survived by her son, Marion T. Turbeville, Jr. (Jane) of Little River, SC and her daughters, Deborah M. Turbeville Veazey (James) of Titusville, FL and Brenda L. Turbeville Dillehay of Charleston, SC.She is also survived by seven grandchildren. (who affectionately know her as Nanny), Dr. Amanda Turbeville of Little River, SC, Adam Turbeville (Kari) of Charleston, SC, TSgt Joshua Veazey USAF (Danielle) of Charleston, SC, Sarah Veazey Kinner of Gulfport, MS, Jennifer Dillehay of Charleston, SC, Nathan Dillehay of Charleston, SC and Matthew Dillehay (Kimberly) of Clyde, NC.She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Amelia Turbeville, Jagger Kenyon, Austin Lind, Noah, Shellsea, and Nyah Veazey, Madison Kinner, Dylan and Jacob Dillehay, AnneMarie and Parker Dillehay, and Jazmyn and Aaron Dillehay.She is also survived by her son-in-law, Daniel Dillehay, 2 brothers, Eugene L. Floyd and John E. Floyd (Diane), sister-in-law, Joan Floyd, sister-in-law, Sylvia Floyd, brothers-in-law, Tommy Turbeville (Cathie) and Michael Turbeville (Debra), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Above all, Winnie was a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a humble follower of Jesus.She loved her family and she loved God and served all of them her entire life.She loved to cook and is famous for her stew beef and rice, homemade biscuits and chocolate slide cake.She loved gospel music, often listening to Gaither homecoming DVDs and old time gospel music from her childhood.Today she is rejoicing with loved ones in Heaven and singing praises with the angels. She was pre-deceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Paul and Cecil Floyd, sister Faye Floyd, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Bruce Reynolds, sister-in-law, Runettie Floyd, brother-in-law, Robert Turbeville and beloved poodle, Simon. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 7, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home in Florence, SC. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.Interment will follow at Florence National Cemetery where Winnie will join Teddy in eternal rest.
