Willie Alexander Williamson, 85, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Mr. Williamson was born a son of the late Nathaniel Williamson and Lizzie Robinson Williamson.He was a graduate of Wilson High School and a veteran of the US Air Force.Mr. Williamson was a retired bus operator with the New York Transit Authority where he was employed for twenty-seven years.He was a member of St. Paul AME Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ricky Williamson; brothers, Pete Williamson and Repete Williamson; and sisters, Jessie Hyman, Lula Henry, Georgia Williams, Lue Birdie McCants, Flossie Thomas, Annie Harrel and Annie Steadman. Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Julia Mae White Williamson; daughter, Sylvia Nodarse (Lewis); sons, Julius Williamson (Loretta) of Austin, TX, Barry Williamson of Austin, TX, and Willie Williamson, II of Baltimore, MD;seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Roseann Andrews of Pamplico. He is also survived by his devoted child, friend and companion, Charlie. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery with military honors.
