Willie Mcleod Jordan

Ms. Willie McLeod Jordan, 94, of Florence died on January 6, 2021.Ms. Jordan was born in Paxville, SC, daughter of Claude Robert McLeod and Minnie Geddings McLeod. Ms. Jordan loved animals, especially horses and her beloved dog, Maxie. She enjoyed being outdoors, and she could often be found sitting on her front porch. Up into her late 80’s, Ms. Jordan continued walking for exercise. Throughout her life, she also enjoyed horseback riding. Ms. Jordan is preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Preston “Pete” Chesley Jordan; one daughter, Ruby Jordan Dawkins; two sisters, Faye McLeod Edwards and Claudine McLeod Edgerton; and one brother, Earl Emmett McLeod. She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Richard (Jeannie) Jordan and Samuel “Sammy” Henry (Carol) Jordan; a son-in-law, Derrell “Buddy” Dawkins; and a sister, Ethel McLeod Robinson. MaMa, as she was affectionately known, is also survived by three grandchildren, Bryan (Laura) Jordan, Amy (Kevin) Hatchell, and Blake (Amanda) Jordan; 5 great- grandsons, Manning Hatchell, Myers Hatchell, McCann Hatchell, Maxton Hatchell, and Davis Jordan; 3 great-granddaughters, Ruby Kate Hatchell, Catherine Jordan, Mary Reese Hatchell, and a great-granddaughter due in May. The family would like to express special thanks and appreciation to Ms. Jordan’s loving caregiver, Crystal Alcorn. They are also grateful for Elmcroft Memory Care in Florence, SC, and their wonderful staff. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Florence Memorial Gardens.
