William P. Turner

June 6, 1952 — September 16, 2025

Supply

William Turner, 73, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Monday September 16, 2025, at his beloved home in Supply, NC.

He was born in Florence County, in the Mars Bluff Community. He attended Florence County Schools and University at Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and attended Filipino Christian Community Church in Florence SC. He worked primarily in manufacturing, such places as Sealtest, Lazy Boy and Aluminum Ladder.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabelita “Lita” Santos of 30 years; his parents, Marion “Peggy” O. Turner and Lawton L. “Jack” Turner; his siblings: Phillip Turner, Alice Lee (Bobby), Jacquelyn “Jackie” (L.W) Lee, Malcolm (Brenda) Turner and Bazil “Ted” Turner; nephew, Woodrow Tripp “Trippie” Lee; and nieces, “Girl” Lee and Ashley Turner.

Surviving are siblings, Danny Turner, David Turner, Jacob Turner and Ginger (Gene) Larke; many nieces and nephews and his Santos family.

He was blessed with a close and loyal family and friends.

He loved any body of water especially the beach, boating and watching boats. One of his favorite spots was Southport, NC.

He grew to love the mountains later in life, but his heart belonged to the ocean.

He enjoyed many trips with his wife and his church family. He always wanted to travel all over the world but due to health reasons he couldn’t. He did however travel to the Philippines and met the love of his life and brought her back as his wife. Never the center of attention keeping his thoughtful actions to himself, but you could find him in a crowd at the back quietly listening.

He was a deep thinker pondering many subjects. He loved to debate you, and he loved to learn from you. He had a great sense of humor, and he would often break out in song while not gifted with singing it didn’t stop him. He had an affinity for correct pronunciation of words. He rarely complained and faced life with a positive attitude.

A graveside Service will be held at Florence Memorial Gardens, on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

A memorial video will be posted later on his sister’s and wife’s FB pages as well as the Filipino Community Church.

The family would like to thank the Dialysis Teams: Fresenius Kidney Care in Florence, SC and Supply, NC.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Filipino Christian Community Church, 1335 Golf Terrace Blvd, Florence, SC 29501, or to your own church’s mission’s department.
