William S. Mccall

William S. McCall, 79, of Florence, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020. Mr. McCall was born in Florence, SC a son of the late James Andrew McCall and Clara Jones McCall.William started working at the age of twelve when he started running his own newspaper route.From that moment, he learned the power of a dollar and the importance of an impeccable work ethic.He carried this mindset until he retired from ESAB in 2003.William was a man that got pleasure from the true simple things in life.Fishing for Spottails, gardening at his farm, hosting fish fries with friends and family at his river cabin, and spending time with his children and grandchildren gave him all the contentment he needed in this life. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James “Jimmy” Andrew McCall, Jr. and sister, Mary Ann McCall. Surviving are his son, Stephen (Stephanie) McCall, Jr. of Fuquay-Varina, NC; daughter, Elizabeth (Andrew Postlewaite) McCall of Charleston; step-son, Edward Tallon of Wake Forest, NC; grandson, Jennings Postlewaite; granddaughters, Maddie McCall, Haley McCall, Tallon Postlewaite, and Kadin Tallon. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
