William Laurin Brunson

William “Billy” Laurin Brunson, 86, of Florence, SC passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Mr. Brunson was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Ulyss Sinkler Brunson and Corrie Hogge Brunson.

He was a devote Christian and family man, a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, as well as a member of Quinby Baptist Church.

Billy retired as a Mechanist with Seaboard/Atlantic Coastline Railroad and was in the South Carolina National Guard. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, car enthusiast and was a proud member of the NRA and the Railroad Retirement Club.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Jeanine Brunson.

Surviving him are his daughters, Susan Rae Brunson Deen, Sheren Rose Brunson, Mary Laurin Brunson, and his son, Russell Downey Brunson; his grandchildren, Brittney Elizabeth Weierbach (James), William Corey Deen and Cameron Bryce Deen; his great grandchildren, Hayden Elizabeth Weierbach and Peyton William Weierbach.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Quinby Baptist Church, towards the building fund.

The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 2 PM, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
