William Richard Coleman, Sr.

William Richard Coleman, 89, of Florence, SC, passed away Friday June 20, 2025.

He was born in Darlington, SC, the son of the late Lillie Belle Smith Coleman and Ervin Coleman. He served in the Army National Guard and was a truck driver for American Bakery for forty-seven years.

Surviving is his wife, Virginia Oakley Coleman; son, William “Ricky” (Mandy) Coleman, Jr.; daughters, Barbara Williams, and Rhonda K. Ard; twelve grandchildren; twenty- seven great grandchildren; seventeen great great grandchildren; and brothers, Wilbur (Betty) and Lynn Coleman.

The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 23, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
