William "Billy" Eugene Hampton

William “Billy” Eugene Hampton, Sr., 82, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Mr. Hampton was born a son of the late Clyde Wilma Johnson Hampton and Clyde Franklin Hampton.He was a member of the Army National Guard and a retired supervisor with Koppers Wood Treatment after 43 years of employment.Mr. Hampton was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and a Mason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie Wilder Hampton and second wife, Cynthia Diane Hampton; and son, James Douglas Hampton. He is survived by his son, William E. Hampton, Jr. of Effingham; daughter, Lee Camilla Hampton of Florence; step-sons, Jody Sweeney (Candy) and Jamie Sweeney (Kim) both of Jackson, Michigan; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
