William W. "Billy" Altman

William W. “Billy” Altman, 84, of Evergreen, passed away at his home on Friday, May 26, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Altman was born in Johnsonville, SC a son of the late Maxie William Altman and Bessie McKnight Altman.He was the founder and owner of Altman Tractor Company and a member of Evergreen Baptist Church where he served faithfully for many years.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Richardson Altman and by a son, Scott Altman. Surviving are his son, Stan (Candy) Altman of Evergreen; daughters, Brenda Altman of Evergreen and Becky Altman Coxe of Florence; grandchildren, Will (Tiffany) Altman, Austin Altman (Clarke) Johnson, Steven Causey, Rebecca Causey and Trey Coxe; great-grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Anna Scott Johnson and Altman Johnson. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC29541. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 PM Sunday at Evergreen Baptist Church in the fellowship hall with the service to follow in the church sanctuary.Burial will follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
