Willena Arnette Turner

Willena Arnette Turner, 96, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at home. Mrs. Turner was born in Dillon, a daughter of the late Cornelius Burton and Mary Maude Arnette.She retired from Florence School District 1 as a school teacher.Mrs. Turner was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she and her husband helped break ground for the church building. Surviving are her children, daughter, Ina Jean Gough; son, John L. (Gloria) Turner, Jr.; grandchildren, Paul (Joy) Galloway, John L. (Amber) Turner, III, Kathryn (Cody) Pickett, and Christopher (Savannah) Turner; and one great-grandson, John “Jack” L. Turner, IV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, John L. Turner, Sr., as well as her ten brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC29501. Entombment services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Mount Hope Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
