Wendell Lee Rogers, 66, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at McLeod Hospice House. Wendell was born March 8, 1948, in Johnsonville, S.C. to the late Alfred and Thelma Rogers. He retired from Rock Tenn in 2013 after 42 years of service and served four years in the Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Surviving are his wife, Diane Calcutt Rogers of Florence; two daughters, Wendy (Matthew) Rogers Dorrell of Timmonsville and Amanda Rogers of Florence; three grandchildren, Cody Rogers, Kaci Dorrell and Cameron Dorrell; four brothers, Don (Frances) Joye and Robbie (Geri) Rogers both of Johnsonville, S.C., Tom (Shirley) Rogers of Aiken, S.C., Rev. Jimmy (Thelma) Rogers of Bonneau, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Ann Bass of Johnsonville, S.C. and Billie Cribb of Hemingway, S.C.;and special friends Shane, Dawn and Bryson Ard of Georgetown, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin M. Joye and a sister, Kola Joye Burrows. Wendell loved his family and was an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O.
