Wendell D. Holland

Reverend Wendell D. Holland, husband of Mrs. Carolyn Wise Holland of Effingham, SC passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at home after an illness.He was the son of the late Reverend Paul K. Holland, Sr. and Mrs. Viola Walker Holland. Reverend Holland graduated from McClenaghan High School and attended Wofford College and graduated from Southern Methodist College of Orangeburg, SC and later post-graduate work at Bob Jones University of Greenville, SC. He was predeceased by three siblings: Mrs. Dennis (Lois) Reams of Cosmopolis, WA; Paul K. Holland, Jr., of Columbia, SC; and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Mosteller of Gaffney, SC. He is survived by his wife of 52 years as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Dennis Reams. Reverend Holland was a retired Southern Methodist minister after serving for 41 years. Prior to entering the pastoral ministry, he served in the United States Air Force for four years. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Florence, SC. A private burial will be held at Florence National Cemetery.
