Wayne J. Pegram

WAYNE J. PEGRAM FLORENCE, S.C. WAYNE J. PEGRAM, 61, of Florence, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mr. Pegram was born in Lancaster, a son of the late Bennett Junior and Margaret Jones Pegram. He worked in the Insurance Industry for over 30 years, having served as Sales and District Manager with Liberty National for 18 years, and most recently with Monumental Life Ins. Co., both in Florence. He was a member of Palmetto Street Church of God, serving faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and on the finance committee, as well as the on church and pastor's council.He had a love for music and singing and shared his talent as a longtime member of the church choir. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Wanda Newton Pegram, sons; Michael Pegram and Benji (Hope) Pegram, both of Florence; daughter-in-law, Debbie Pegram of Florence; brother, Donnie (Emma) Pegram of Lancaster; and grandchildren, Kirby, Macy and Jack Pegram. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Pegram. Funeral service will be held at 4:00PM Sunday, March 25, 2012 in the Palmetto Street Church of God. Burial will follow in Florence Memorial gardens, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
