Wayne Dewight Allen

Wayne D. Allen, 74, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at home. He was born August 2, 1941 in Effingham, a son of the late Alvin Carlie and Minnie Lee Welch Allen. Mr. Allen was a logger and a member of Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to Ann Martin and Hospice for the special care they showed the family. Survivors include two step children; two brothers, A.C. (Judy) Allen and Douglas (Chessie) Allen, all of Effingham; a sister, Gloria (Buddy) Oakley of Effingham; several grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Allen, two brothers, John Dallas Allen and Lunice Allen, and four sisters, Pearl Carraway, Lillie Mae Poston, Jessie Lee Tiller, and Alice Collins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Mac Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
