Walter E. Miller

Walter E. Miller, Sr. 89, of Florence, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014. Mr. Miller was born in Dillon County, a son of the late John Clifford Miller and Mattie Shelley Miller.He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Amity Lodge AFM 340 and of the Omar Temple of Charleston.Mr. Miller was a Master Mason and an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Suggs Miller; his sister, Eloise Hammond; and his brothers, J. C. Miller and Horace Miller. Surviving are his sons, James E. (Mary) Miller and Walter E. (Mary Ann) Miller, Jr., both of Florence; his grandchildren, Shelley DeWitt of Florence, Amber Miller of Columbia and Kyle Miller of Florence; his great-grandchild, Conner Kreese; his brother, Heyward Miller of Florence and his sisters, Ava Gray Bullard of Georgetown, Virginia Hobbs of Green Sea and June Grainger of Loris. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapeldirected by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
