Wallace Herbert Jordan, Sr.

Wallace Jordan, 81, of Florence, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Jordan was born in Evergreen, a son of the late Herbert Lee and Bercta Purvis Jordan. He was a graduate of Mcclenaghan High School and attended Wofford College. He was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Jordan spent over 45 years in the automobile industry in the Florence Area, retiring as Owner/Operator of Cherokee Toyota/BMW/Volkswagen. He was a member of the VFW, the Florence Country Club, Kiwanis, and was a Shriner.He was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and the Willie Calder Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Leila Parham Jordan; his sons, Wallace Herbert “Jay” Jordan, Jr. (Tara), and John Parham Jordan (Melissa); daughters, Lura Elizabeth Marsh (Britt) and Rona Ann Allen (Jerry), all of Florence; sister, Dixie Ann Potts of Winter Park, FL; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brothers, Donald Lee Jordan and John Gary Jordan. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Florence Baptist Temple. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
