Wallace Winfield Arrington

Wallace Winfield Arrington, 92, of Florence, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. Mr. Arrington was born in Rocky Mount, NC, a son of the late Joseph Carter Arrington, Jr. and Cleo Moore Arrington.He was veteran of the United States Marine Corp, 4th Division, Pacific Theater of Operations during WWII on Iwo Jima.He retired from CSX Railroad as a sheet metal worker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Erma Ruth Rogers Arrington; his sons, Robert “Bob” Winfield (Peggy) Arrington of Wilson, NC and Henry Carter (Dawn) Arrington of Florence; a daughter, Patsy A. Brown of Florence; grandsons, Bert (Charity) Arrington, Erick (Susan) Arrington and Derick Brown; granddaughters, Melissa (Dan) Meier, Emily (Charley) Mitchell and Ellis Arrington; a sister, Joanne (Mack) English of Nashville, NC and a brother, Donnie (Yvonne) Arrington of Rocky Mount, NC. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, P. O.
