Vivian Fudge Young never met a stranger – only friends she hadn’t talked to yet. On February 10, 2025, she wrapped up her final adventure, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and legendary storytelling. Born to the late William McConnell Fudge and Irma Reid Fudge, Vivian brought joy and energy into every room she entered. A master of puzzles, both the jigsaw and life variety, she loved a good challenge – whether it was an actual puzzle, an adventurous activity, or finding a way to make everyone around her smile. Vivian was a woman who radiated warmth and kindness. She always made those around her feel welcomed and valued. Her vivacious personality and outgoing nature made every gathering brighter, and her beauty – both inside and out- left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Vivian dedicated her working years to data processing, but her true passion was people. She was the life of every party, a champion of laughter, and a believer that no moment was too small to celebrate. A devoted member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, she found joy in her faith, family, and the community she loved so much. Vivian shared 62 wonderful years of love and partnership with her devoted husband, Paul Young. Together, they build a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support. As a loving mother, she poured her heart into raising her daughter Paula Young Thompson, who carries forward her mother’s strength and zest for life. She now joins her mother Irma, her father Bill, her brothers Jack and Wayne Fudge, and her son-in-law, Eric Allen Thompson, in what we can only imagine is the most fun reunion heaven has seen in a long time. Those left to carry on her legacy include her loving husband of 62 years, Paul Young; her daughter, Paula Young Thompson, her brother, Shelton Fudge; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly and who will forever be grateful for her warmth and wit. Though she may no longer be here in person, Vivian’s laughter echoes on, her love endures, and her spirit reminds us all to embrace life with open arms and a ready smile. In her honor, hug someone, start a new puzzle, or strike up a conversation with a stranger- you just might find a new friend A celebration of her life will be held at Stoudenmire Dowling Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Vivian’s memory by donating to Alzheimer’s Association and by embracing life with the same warmth, courage, and love that she so effortlessly shared with the world.
