Virginia Ammons Mixon

Virginia Ammons Mixon, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Mrs. Mixon was born a daughter of Tom Richardson and Retha Richardson.She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Mrs. Mixon loved flowers, cooking and planning for family gatherings.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Mrs. Mixon is survived by her husband, Marion Mixon; sons, Eugene Ammons (Sally) of Florence and Marion “Mike” (Robin) Mixon of Darlington; daughters, Betty Jo Jordan (Harrel)of Hartsville and Brenda Blackmon (Chip) of Surfside Beach; daughter-in-law, Holly Mixon;grandchildren, Crystal Hulsey (Chad), Andy Jordan (Tearra), Sherry Ammons (Jerry), Billy Ammons (Madison), Angie Ammons (Rodney), Jennifer Kirkland, Leslie Blackmon, Chad Blackmon, Michele (Kyle) Hendrix, Michael Mixon and Paul Mixon; great-grandchildren, Anderson Hulsey, Georgianna Hulsey, Bentley Jordan, Tyler Moses, Emily Turner, Blythe Kirkland, Naomi Blackmon, Harleigh Mixon and Kyleigh Hendrix; sister, Helen Watkins (Wayne); brothers, Horace Richardson (Audrey), and David “Buddy” Richardson (Linda). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Billy Ray Ammons and Ricky Mixon; brother, James Richardson, and sister, Lucille Miller. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Immanuel Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
