Virginia Boatwright Gray

Virginia Boatwright Gray, 93, of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018. Mrs. Gray was born in Gresham, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Luther Boatwright and Edith Richardson Boatwright Harper.She was an optometrist assistant for many years.Mrs. Gray was a member of the Florence Southern Methodist Church.Mrs. Gray was a very talented homemaker – skilled in sewing, cooking and gardening.She was a devoted wife and beloved mother.She taught her family by example what was important. She loved Jesus and made sure that her children all knew Him. Mrs. Gray is survived by her children, Jimmy Gray (Becky) of Charlotte, NC, Dianne Gray of Charlotte, NC and Karen Gray Perkins (Jimmy) of Florence, SC; one grandchild, Kelli S. Crowe (John David) of Alpharetta, GA, and three great-grandchildren; and brother, Lewis Harper of Florence. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert A. Gray, and her brothers, Earl Boatwright and Hubert Boatwright. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Turbeville.
