Violet Forde Vause

VIOLET FORDE VAUSE FLORENCE, SC VIOLET FORDE VAUSE, 88, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Pee Dee Gardens, her assisted living residence after an illness. Mrs. Vause was born in Gastonia, NC a daughter of the late Asher J. Forde and Bessie Sims Forde.She retired from Southern Bell after a number of years and was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wiley Alexander and James Edward Vause; brothers, J.B., A.J. Jr., Leonard and Lester and by two sisters, Hazel Hodge and Edith Vause. Surviving are her step-sons, Joe (Nancy) Vause, Jim (Mary Kay) Vause, Philip (Carol) Vause and David (Anita) Vause; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 2624 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC29501. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM Friday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home of Woody and Sharon Weatherford.
