VETRA LEWIS BENNETT FLORENCE, S.C. VETRA LEWIS BENNETT, 59, of Florence, passed away Friday, February 1, 2013, in a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Bennett was born in Charleston, SC, the daughter of Helen Glenn Lewis and the late George C. Lewis.She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she had worked with the G.A.’s and was active in the W.M.U.She was a member of the Florence Board of Realtors. She was preceded in death by her father and her brothers-in-law, Edward James Bennett and Ricky Grier. Surviving in addition to her mother, of Florence, are her husband of thirty-five years, Leslie Bennett;her son, Bryan Lewis Bennett and his fiancé, Brittany Hettinghouse; her daughter, Amanda Vetra Bennett; her sister, Debbie (Wink) Lewis DeWitt, all of Florence; her grandchildren, K. C. Todd and Kaden Todd; her nieces, Erin (Bryan) Miller of Goose Creek, and Megan DeWitt of Florence; her nephew, Jamie Bennett; mother and father-in-law, Robert L. and Genevieve Bennett of Hemingway, sisters-in-law, Dr. Patricia Bennett of Mt. Pleasant and Brenda Grier; and brothers-in-law, Donald Grier and Kelly Grier and other extended family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Calvary Baptist Church.Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
