Vera Gaskins Littlefield Vera Aletha Gaskins Littlefield, 89, formerly of Florence, died January 08, 2013 in a Jacksonville, Florida nursing facility after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, January 14, 2013 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery. Mrs. Littlefield was born in Rocky Mount, NC, a daughter of the late Lawrence Jackson and Mattie Odene Hanna Gaskins. She was a member of Mizpah Baptist Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 3181 in Florence. She was a self employed Cosmetologist for 26 years in Florence. She was preceded by her parents, husband, Benjamin Gary Littlefield, who died in 1996. Surviving are a nephew, Warren Avant of St. Cloud, Florida; son, Arnold R. Lee ; One step-son; 2step-daughters; 1 sister and a number of grand and great –grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
