Uldine Stokes Capell

ULDINE STOKES CAPELL FLORENCE, S.C. ULDINE STOKES CAPELL, 86, of Florence, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2013 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Capell was born in Florence, a daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Effie McElveen Stokes. She had retired from J.C. Penney after 20 years. Mrs. Capell was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple and the Adult Senior Sunday School Class. She had a lifelong hobby of writing poetry and sharing it with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Capell was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J. Capell, Sr, by a daughter, Deborah Capell Todd, and by her brother, Benny William Stokes, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Capell Conner of Effingham; her sons, Herbert J. Capell, Jr. (Sabrina) and Danny Ray Capell (Julie), both of Florence; her sister, Mildred Stokes Tyner of Florence; her grandchildren, Terry Simmons (Doug) of Darlington and Bert Capell (Crystal) of Florence, Sam Todd, Jr. of Effingham, Dana E. Capell and Bethany C. Capell, both of Florence; and her great grandchild, Christian Wesley Capell of Florence. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Florence Baptist Temple. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
