Tressie M. Williams, 86, of Florence, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017. Ms. Williams was born a daughter of the late Jack “J.J.” Williams and Ethel Hatchell Williams.She graduated from McClenaghan High School in 1949 and attended Francis Marion University.Ms. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence, a member of Mecca Chapter #278, Order of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron and a former member of The Order Of The Amaranth.Ms. Williams was employed thirty-seven years with Florence Broadcasting Company. She was the assistant manager of Piggly Wiggly in the Florence Mall, having started to work there part-time in 1967 and became a full-time employee in 1991. Ms. Williams is survived by her sisters-in-law, Sylvia Williams (wife of the late Doug Williams) and Bobbie M. Williams (wife of the late Albert Gene Williams); nieces, Debra W. Nobles(Dennis) and A. Robin Williams; loving great-niece, Illisa B. Nobles and great-nephew, Wesley Earl Nobles and two great-nieces, Samantha Grace Weaver and Summer Leigh Hoffmeyer.She is also survived by many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Leroy Bethea Williams, Albert Gene Williams, and Nathan W. “Doug” Williams and her only beloved nephew, A. Gene “Chip” Williams, Jr. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Garden of Memories on Sunday, December 24, 2017, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
