Tiny Lucille McElveen, 92, of Florence, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015. Mrs. McElveen was born in Florence County, SC, a daughter of the late Joe Douglas Lee and Edna Camilla Thornhill.She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for sixty-one years and served as Sunday School Teacher, GA Leader and WMU member.She was a charter member of Wild Rose Garden Club and served on the Historical and Scrapbook Committees and also as the corresponding secretary.Mrs. McElveen was a member of Golden Star Wives of America.She graduated from J. C. Lynch High School and earned her business degree from Florence Business College.She was a school food supervisor for Florence School District One and the State Secretary for SCSFA. Surviving are her daughter, Jerry Ballentine Forte and son-in-law, Thomas Walter Forte, Sr. of Newberry; grandchild, Thomas Walter Forte, Jr. of Myrtle Beach; great-grandchild, Thomas Dale Forte of Myrtle Beach; sister, Helen McCollugh of Salters, SC and a number of loving and loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husbands, Ernest W. Ballentine and A. R. McElveen; brothers W. D. Lee and Clinton J. Lee, both of Georgetown and Robert Colon Lee, of Florence; and sister, Mary Lee Wilder Bushard of Georgetown. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Immanuel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Church. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, Bereavement Fund, 306 Cherokee Rd, Florence, SC 29501.
