THOMAS CLYDE McPHERSON, JR. FLORENCE, SC Thomas Clyde McPherson, Jr., 71, of Florence, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mr. McPherson was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Thomas Clyde McPherson and Janie McPherson.He was a graduate of Southside High School, a US Navy veteran and a longtime member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. He was a diesel mechanic that had been associated with Ryder Truck Rental, Rollins Truck Leasing, Richbourg’s Sales and Rentals which later became Neff and from which he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his former wife, Irene Calcutt McPherson. Surviving are his wife Frances Charles McPherson of Florence; sons, Jay (Renee) McPherson of Darlington and Jimmy (Rachel) Wiggins of Knoxville, TN; daughters, Tammy McPherson of Florence, Mary Keith (Marisa) Wiggins of Darlington and Laurie (Charlie) Griffin of Florence; grandchildren, Clay Flowers, Rachel Griffin, Rachel McPherson, Ryan Griffin and Jake McPherson; sister, Rosalee (Tommy) Jones of Surfside. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
