Thomas Gaddy “T.G.” Moore, 84, of Florence, went home to be with his wife and Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013, in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Moore was born in Latta, SC, a son of William Steven and Sarah Moore. He was a member of Horrell Hill Baptist Church in Columbia and attended Gospel Temple and Palmetto Street Church of God in Florence.He, along with his wife, Earline Broach Moore, owned and operated two grocery stores, T. G. Moore’s at Moore’s Crossroads and owned and operatedMoore’s Cars for fifty-five years and had been involved in farming. He was predeceased in death by his parents; his wife, Earline Broach Moore, who died in 2010; his daughter, Christine Moore, who died in 1979; his brother-in-law, Henry Broach; and fifteen brothers and sisters. Surviving are his children Reverend Thomas P. (Barbara) Moore, Francine (Junior) Lawhon, Phillip F. (Carol) Moore, Linda K. Moore and Dennis M. (Crystal) Moore, all of Florence; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren;his sister, Francis (Nick) Antonis of Kitty Hawk, NC; a brother-in-law, Hamer Broach of Florence; sisters-in-law, Judith Jeffcoat of Florence, Alice (Wilson) Coleman of Summerville, Mildred “Billie” Moore of Columbia and Virginia Moore of Florence; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 23, 2013, at Palmetto Street Church of God directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Sunday at the home of Dr. Mark Lawhon, 510 Ridgewood Drive, Florence Country Club, Florence, SC.
