Thomas Edward Floyd, 78, of Coward, SC, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Floyd was born in Sumter, SC, a son of the late Henry Edward Floyd and Lillie Mae Hodge Floyd.He served as a member of the South Carolina National Guard and worked for McCall Farms.Mr. Floyd was a member of Bethsaida United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Clark Floyd and Sister, Elizabeth “Mac” Floyd. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Alma Faye Williams Floyd; his daughters, Cheryl Lynn Banicki of Florence, Belinder Sue (Michael) Britton of Michigantown, Indiana, Barbara Annette McKay of Coward and Tommie Jean (Thomas) Floyd of Lake City; his brothers, Robert (Harriett)Floyd of Florence, and Ravenel (Ann) Floyd of Effingham; his sisters, Lana (Wimpy) Jones of Timmonsville, Rhett (Jimmy) Bacot of Effingham, Louise “Cookie” (Glenn) Rouse of Fork and Ginger (Frankie) Mims of Florence; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dot Floyd of Timmonsville and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Bethsaida United Methodist Church.Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
