Thelma Jeanette Kennedy

Thelma Jeanette Kennedy, 75, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 after a long illness. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Jake Hutchinson and Ida Colee Poston Hutchinson.She loved fishing, camping and spending time in her garden. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Roger Hutchinson and Johnny Hutchinson; her sister, Joyce Lee; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Hutchinson and Carol Hutchinson. Surviving are her husband, V. David Kennedy; her son, David S. L. (Shannon) Kennedy of Hartsville; her step-daughters, Nancy (Marty) Hill of Pamplico, Anne (Billy) Jackson of Effingham, Pam (Jep) Gardner of Myrtle Beach and Janet (Mark) Gainey of Florence; one grandson, Laken;6 step-grandchildren ; her brother, Donnie Hutchinson of Effingham; and her sisters, Mazil (Robert) Stephens of Hyman, Louise (Ralph Lipscomb) McBride of Goose Creek, Jean (Clifford) Hanna of North Charleston and Gayle (Joe) Kelly of Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, in the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.Entombment, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, will follow.
