THAYDIS FILYAW TURNER Florence, S.C. THAYDIS FILYAW TURNER, 78, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the Methodist Manor with her family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was born in Florence County, SC, the daughter of the late Douglas Ossie Filyaw and Theo Flowers Filyaw. She was the widow of Benjamin M. Turner.Mrs. Turner was a graduate of J. C. Lynch High School and upon graduation, she pursued a career in cosmetology.She was a member of Tans Bay Baptist Church and a member of the choir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner is predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Maxwell Turner, and three brothers. She is survived by her children, Benjamin Mack Turner and his wife, Rene'e, and Randy Nelson Turner, both of Florence, and Kim T. Vause and her husband Craig, of Timmonsville, four grandchildren,Danielle Moss and her husband, Matt, of Murrells Inlet, Breanna Turner of Charleston, Dustin Turner of Florence, and Lauren Vause of Timmonsville; two great-grandchildren, Turner Dayton Moss and Dawson McAllister Moss, both of Murrells Inlet;two sisters, Kat Miles of Coward and Faye Kirby of Lake City; and a brother, Carol Filyaw, of Coward. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 24, 2012, in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to the hospice facility of one's choice.
