Shelby J. Brugos

Shelby J. Brugos, 80, of Huger, SC passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Mrs. Brugos was born in Martinsville, VA, a daughter of the late George R. Patterson and Della Faye Gray Patterson.She was a member of Palmetto Street Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Johnny Carl Chitwood in 1987 and her second husband, John J. Brugos in 2005; sisters, Jewel Compton and Sue Crews, and brothers, Samuel Patterson and Phillip Patterson. Surviving are her son, Garry C. (Patricia) Chitwood of Fieldale, VA; daughters, Cynthia G. (Mark) Reino of Stuart, VA and Lissa C. (Leonard) Lara of Huger, SC; grandchildren, Katelyn M. Reino, Emily J. (Josh) Lavelle, Christopher B. Chitwood, Chelsea M. Milligan, and Amber Hormell; great-grandchildren, Joshua H. Lavelle, Knox S. Lavelle, Kenzi Milligan, Stryker Milligan, Andelynn M. Hormell, and Samson E. Hormell. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Street Church of God, 3132 W. Palmetto Street, Florence, SC29501. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to be held at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery.
