Sharon Gibson, age 71, passed away unexpectedly following a period of declining health on Friday, October 2, 2026.
Sharon was born in Florence, South Carolina, on April 24, 1955, to Bishop and Mildred Bell. She attended McClenaghan High School as a member of the class of 1974. As a young woman, she began raising her three daughters and used her artistic talents to pursue a career in interior design.
She was employed by Robb & Stucky near Dunedin, Florida, and worked at World of Color, Carolina Supply House, and Benjamin Moore in Florence. She also lived in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina, for short periods of time.
Sharon was a beautiful woman who was noticed when she entered a room. She had a passion for nature and a tender heart for animals. She particularly enjoyed spending time near the water, especially at Clearwater Beach in Florida. She loved her family, who take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her parents in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop and Mildred Bell. She is survived by her daughters: Michelle Poston (Joey), Nikki Supernor (Steve), and Shawn Baggerly; her grandchildren: Collin Poston, Dylan Supernor, Ashley Supernor, and MyKenzie Casimer; her aunts: Clarissa Bradford and Betsy Bell; and numerous cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at MUSC CVICU for the exceptional care she received, as well as dear family and friends for their kind thoughts and prayers. She will be missed.
