Shannon Marie Smith, 31, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Ms. Smith was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of Susan Heyward Benton.She was a graduate of South Florence High School and an office manager for J. Benton Enterprises.Shannon was a fun loving and full of personality mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend, who never left you without a smile. Surviving are her parents, Joseph and Susan Benton of Florence; sons, Michael Benton and Mason Benton, both of Florence; daughter, Maura Smith of Florence; brothers, Andra “T.J.” Smith (Kacey) of Florence and Joseph “J.J.” Kenneth Benton of Florence; sister, Ashley Heyward McPherson(Joseph) of Florence; step-sisters, Angel Madurski of Florence and Charlene Wallace of Darlington; grandfather, Johnnie Wilkes of Timmonsville and special aunt, Donna Matthews, of Olanta; uncle, Ken Heyward(Renee) of Dovesville; aunts, Jennifer Heyward of Florence, Nikki Carter of Darlington, and Katrina Zeringue of Coward; cousins, Chelsea Heyward, Blake Heyward, and Laine Cox; nieces and nephews, Kinsley Cox, Kylie Cox, Aubree Hicks, Serenity Smith, Jada McPherson, KayDance Smith, Alexa McPherson, Andera Heyward, and Ashlynn; husband, Justin Johnson; lifelong best friend, Kelli Spencer, and special friends, Keegan Salley and Daniella Comer. Shannon was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janice Wilkes; grandfather, Kenneth (Kenny) Heyward(Loretta), and nephew, Andra Smith III. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.The family will receive friends following the service.
