Sandra Delores Allegood Matthews, 72, of Florence, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, listening to scripture from the New Testament. Mrs. Matthews was born in Moultrie, GA, the daughter of Virginia G. Poole and the late Dearl A. Allegood.She was a devoted wife and mother and loved all of her family and many, many friends.She was a retired secretary with her husband’s accounting firm.She enjoyed cross-stitching, painting ceramics and especially, crocheting.She was a dedicated member of Abundant Life Church and loved singing. She absolutely adored the Christmas season and cardinals! The family wishes to express our many thanks to all the doctors, nurses and aides that have been so helpful during her illness. She is survived by her husband, Travis L. Matthews; daughter, Pam (Peter) Derikart of Florence, SC; mother, Virginia G. (Mama Jean) Poole of Hanahan, SC; and brothers, Jerry (Pat) Allegood of Greenville, NC and Donald Allegood of Hanahan, SC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Abundant Life Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2018, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Abundant Life Church, 3030 S.
