Ruth Raywood Drelich

Ruth (Raywood) Drelich, age 86 passed peacefully on January 3, 2018. Born, raised and lived most of her life in Clifton, New Jersey.Retired to Florence, South Carolina for 15 years, then to Cedar Falls Iowa to live with family.Active in her children's school activities, Girl Scout leader, National Association of Letter Carriers Women's Auxiliary, but most important - the St. Anthony's Prayer Shawl ministry in Florence, SC. It was her talent and passion, knitting hundreds of hats which were donated to local charities to keep less fortunate children warm in the winter months. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Drelich; sister, Ann (Conrad) Sweerus and her parents. Survivors include her children, Steven (Hazel) Drelich of Clifton,NJ, Lorraine of Robbinsville, NJ, George (Beth) of Cedar Falls, IA, and Peter of Cedar Falls, IA; grandchildren, Nicole, Alex, and JD Drelich; sisters, Claire (Edward) Kutzleb, and Elaine (Daniel) Bergin; aunt to many nieces and nephews, all who will miss her, her love, and her Christmas cookies. A Vigil Service will be held 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Family will receive visitors until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
