Russell Clyde Walrath

RUSSELL CLYDE WALRATH FLORENCE, SC RUSSELL CLYDE WALRATH, 66, of Florence, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Russell was born in Cooperstown, NY a son of the late Howard Hays Walrath and Ester Bumbarger Walrath.He graduated from the University of Mississippi and was a science teacher at Pine Middle School in Darlington for 29 years and up until his illness, he had delivered the Florence Morning News for 7 years.Russell was a coach, umpire and referee for the Florence County Parks and Recreation for football, basketball and baseball and was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Jane Dunkly Walrath and son, Jonathan Nicholas Walrath, both of Florence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home to assist the family. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
