Ruby Owens Jordan

RUBY O. JORDAN FLORENCE, SC Ruby O. Jordan, 93, of Florence, passed away in a local health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Jordan was born in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Henry Owens and Addie Lois Carraway Owens.She had been active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and had worked in food service for Florence School District One, She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur Jordan; daughters, Dorothy Owens and Jeannette Jeffords and six siblings. Surviving are her daughter, Jean J. Stone of Florence; son, Jimmy (Libby) Jordan of Effingham; grandchildren, Debra Dennis, Donna Lawhon, Bo Gibbs, Jay Jordan, Misty Weatherford, Diane Hanna, Craig Owens and David Stone, Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren including Erica Dennis and sister, Grace Allen of Effingham. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, PO Box 626, Olanta, SC29114. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home chapel.Burial will follow in the Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 Noon Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
