Ruby Bell Banning

Ruby Bell Banning Florence, SC Ruby Bell Banning, 88, widow of Orville F. “Bill” Banning, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 4, 2014 in a Florence hospital with her family by her side. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 7, 2014 in the Florence Baptist Temple. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mrs. Banning was born in Horry Co., SC a daughter of the late Samuel Hendricks Bell and Emma Stroud Bell. She was a faithful member of the Florence Baptist Temple since 1973. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Ann Banning and by 11 siblings. Surviving are her 5 children, Alice (James) Jones of West Point, MS, Betty (Thomas) Dowling of Timmonsville, Barbara Shirley of Florence, Bill (Wanda) Banning of Columbia and Rosie (Glenn) Baum of Florence; 13 grandchildren, Diana Martin of Florence, Gena Grainger of Fort Mill, SC, Jeff Jones of Gainesville, Ga., Jason Jones of Merrillville, IN, Tammie Moore of Hartsville, Natalie Epting of Florence, Tad Dowling of Timmonsville, Adam Dowling of Hartsville, Lance Shirley, Trent Shirley, Chad Shirley, Benjie Banning all of Florence and Angie Shumpert of Lexington; 30 great-grandchildrenthat,along with her grandchildren, she truly adored. The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 8:00 Sunday at the Funeral Home and other times at her residence.
