Roy Wayne Poston

Roy Wayne Poston, 62, of Effingham, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2015, after an illness. Mr. Poston was born in Florence County, SC, a son of the late Joe Poston, Sr. and Janie Mae Miles Poston.He was the owner/operator of Poston’s Trailer Repair, LLC and had been involved in heavy duty trucking since 1972.He was of the Free Will Baptist faith.Wayne was a hard working man.He loved his family and his grandchildren dearly and spent as much time as he could with them.The grandchildren also loved their “Poppy”.He was also a generous man and helped many people. He will truly be missed by many. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Patricia Etheridge Poston; his children, Pamela Poston and Rusty (Kim) Poston, both of Effingham; grandchildren, Ryan Poston, Madison Poston, Samantha Poston, Ellie Poston and Charleigh Poston; brother, Onnie (Jane) Poston of Pamplico; sisters, Alice Johnson of Pamplico, Carolyn Jackson of Lugoff and Patsy (Andy) Douglas of Hemingway; a number of nieces and nephews and many special friends. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by his grandson, Nicholas Christian Poston, and hisbrothers, Joe Poston, Jr., Dale Poston and Kenneth Poston. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery in Pamplico directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
