Rosemary Weatherford Thomas

Rosemary Weatherford Thomas, died Tuesday evening, February 27, 2018 at McLeod Regional hospital. Ms. Thomas was born in Florence, SC on January 20, 1961.She was the daughter of Gordon B. (Deceased) and Margaret Weatherford, both of Florence.She is survived by her Mother, two daughters, Kristen Laurel Willis of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Elizabeth Thomas Weddington of Orangeburg, S.C., two granddaughters, Hannah and Lillian Weddington, her sister, Janie Weatherford Kirkland of Darlington, S.C., three brothers, Gordon Lee Weatherford of Gastonia, NC, Bill Weatherford of Atlanta, GA and Mike Weatherford of Florence. Ms. Thomas was educated in Florence Public Schools before beginning her career as an Optician.In 1987, she achieved an ABO certification as a licensed optician and in 1990, became a member of the South Carolina Association of Opticians.She retired soon thereafter due to health issues.She recently had been attending First Presbyterian Church of Florence. Her family and friends remember her as highly intelligent, beautiful and happy person. Her humor never left her, even as she struggled with illness.She remained a thoughtful and caring person who loved her children and grandchildren immensely.She loved to read and remained curious about everything. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
