Ronald “Monk” Woodrow Floyd, 76, of Effingham, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Effingham, SC, a son of the late Fred Thomas Floyd, Sr. and Lois Evans Floyd.Mr. Floyd was a veteran of the US Airforce and was a crane operator. Surviving are his wife of forty-four years, Mary Anne Ward Floyd; children, Mary “Bekki” Rebecca (Hugh) McClenney, John Stephen (Megan) Floyd, Sr., James Aaron (Mandy) Floyd and Wendy Floyd Moss; grandchildren, Jacob Aaron McClenney, John Stephen Floyd, Jr., Mary Elisabeth “Lizzie” McClenney, Jessie Rebecca McClenney, Wren Floyd, Abbi Floyd and Cailin Grace Floyd; great-grandchildren, Grayson Alexander McClenney and Isaac G. Trevathan; brother, Jesse Floyd and sister, Ann Wollgast. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Carol R. Floyd, and brother, Fred T. Floyd, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
