Robert W. Strawn

Robert W. Strawn, 89, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. Mr. Strawn was born on October 4, 1927, in Florence County, SC, a son of the late James T. Strawn and Willie Mae Hicks Strawn.He was a three year veteran of the US Navy and retired after over twenty years in the Merchant Marines.Mr. Strawn was the owner/operator of Bob’s Flag Car Service. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Danny Strawn; sister, Shirley Vick; and his brothers, Keith Strawn, Billy Strawn and Charles Strawn. Mr. Strawn is survived by his wife, Mary Logan Strawn; children, Lisa Bigelow-Colon (Robert), Deborah Hinson, Russell Ard, Jr. (Tonya) and Kristy Douglas (Chris), all of Florence and Diane J. Bell (H.F. Smith) of Newark, DE; his sister, Sylvia Stewart (Jim) of Longville, MN; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
