Robert Frank Gandy

ROBERT FRANK GANDY FLORENCE, SC ROBERT FRANK GANDY, 82, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Methodist Manor of the Pee Dee after an illness. Mr. Gandy was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Frank Madison Gandy and Elma McPherson Gandy.He attended Florence public schools and attended Presbyterian College, was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years where he served as an Elder and Deacon and was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War.He was owner of Gandy’s Exxon until his retirement in 1996, was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, gardening and wildlife. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Geneva Hyman Gandy who passed away in 2004. Surviving are his daughters, Jan (Ricky) Saucier of Lexington, SC and their daughter, Blythe of Charleston and Kaye (Bob) Geiger of Florence and their daughter, Blair of Florence. Memorials may be made to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 5314 Old River Road, Florence, SC29506 and Agape Hospice, 1925 Mountain Laurel Court, Florence, SC29505. Graveside services will be held at 5:30 PM, Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Methodist Manor and Agape Hospice for their care and kindness shown to Mr. Gandy and his family.
