Robert D. "Robbie" McLaughlin Moncks Corner, SC Robert D. "Robbie" McLaughlin, 69, of Moncks Corner and formerly of Florence, died Monday morning, July 16, 2012 in a North Charleston Hospital after an illness. A celebration of Robbie's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mr. McLaughlin was born in Florence County, SC a son of the late Robert D. and Allie Mae Harrell McLaughlin. Robbie was a Coach at Hannah-Pamplico and at McCleneghan High School from 1965 until 1972.He was a member of Effingham Presbyterian Church, a Mason, Shriner and Elk.He was an avid golfer, a motorcyclist and enjoyed spending time on Facebook keeping up with his family and friends. He retired from CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Ashlin McLaughlin of Moncks Corner; sons, Robert Wade McLaughlin of Norfolk, VA and Patrick J. McLaughlin of Florence and their mother, Beverly Byrd of Florence; step-son, Joey W. (Deborah) Coker, Jr. of North Charleston; grandchildren, Robert Duncan McLaughlin, III, Chadwick Aaron McLaughlin, Abby McLaughlin, Bradley K. Coker, Britney Pack and Joey W. Coker, III; great-grandchild, Braedon Coker; sister, Lois (Vernon) Benton of Florence and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
