Robert “Roscoe” Cumbie Effingham, SC Robert “Roscoe” Cumbie, 63, of Effingham, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Cumbie was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Arthur Tink Cumbie and Ruby Poston Cumbie.He had attended Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed farming where he loved being on a tractor.He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for C.I.P.I. Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Brunson Cumbie; three brothers and one sister. Surviving are his son, Robbie Cumbie of Florence; grandchildren, Courtney Cumbie, Brandon Cumbie and Hannah Cumbie; brother, Laurie Cumbie of Danville, GA; sisters, Ellen Floyd of Ridgeville, SC, Barbara Coker of Florence and Ruby Smith of Bostic, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 78960, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960, Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, 7001 Friendfield Road, Effingham, SC 29541 or McLeod Hospice, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
